Our Story

K.O. Performing Arts (previously K.O. Voice Studio) is a performing arts school passionate about shaping the next generation of well-rounded musical theater performers. Owner, Kelly O’Shea, opened the school in 2022 to provide student with the same performance focused music education she grew up with. We pride ourselves on providing fresh direction, expertise, and connections to its students through teachers who are young, active performers and professionals. The school currently has students from ages 3 to 18 years old and offers theater, dance, and acting classes, MainStage Productions, and Private Lessons in Voice and Piano

Kelly O’Shea is the owner and artistic director of K.O. Performing Arts. Kelly is a singer, dancer, and actress from Los Angeles, California and holds a BFA in Music and a Masters in Music in Vocal Performance. Kelly actively performs as an opera singer as well as on the musical theater stage and frequently performs as a gig singers throughout the Miami area. Kelly truly believes that bringing the performing arts to the community and working with future performers is one of her greatest passions next to singing and performing herself. She wants to thank the entire K.O. Performing Arts team, family, and friends for making this dream possible!

Rachel Wresh, originally from Melissa, Texas, is a specialist in crossover works within the operatic and musical theater canons. A recent Master of Music graduate from University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, she was acclaimed by South Florida Classical Review as “the perfect Rose” in Frost Opera Theater’s production of Street Scene. Other notable performance credits include Sally in Stone Soup with Florida Grand Opera, Clara in The Light in the Piazza, Adele in Die Fledermaus, Rosemary in How to Succeed in Business, and Marty in Grease. As a passionate educator and adjudicator for several schools in the Miami area, she is grateful to Kelly for the opportunity to spread music to the next generation by teaching and managing for K.O. Performing Arts

Brittni Taylor Rhodes is thrilled to be the stage director and choreographer for K.O Performing Art’s MainStage Productions. Previous directing credits include Beauty and The Beast (summer ‘23), Matilda (Fall ‘24), Mean Girls (spring ‘24) and Mary Poppins (fall ‘24).  Brittni is originally from Tennessee, she has a BFA in Musical theater with a minor in dance from The University of Memphis. Favorite credits include Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey), She Loves Me (Ilona), Grease (Marty), Legally Blonde (Elle Woods), Spring Awakening (Ilse), Disney’s Tarzan (Jane), and Nine (Carla). She has also worked as a performer for Big Noise Theatre (Chicago, IL), Round Barn Theatre (South Bend, ID) and College Light Opera Company (Falmouth, MA).

Milenie Morejon is thrilled to be back as the stage manager of K.O. Performing Arts. She also is the lighting designer for all MainStage Productions. She started her career as an actress in Mater Performing Arts & Entertainment Academy’s play 15 Reasons Why Not To Be in a Play. In 2022, she competed under Troup 6782 earning a superior at both the District and State Florida Thespian Festivals. Her freshman year she discovered her love for technical theater. Some of her favorite credits include; In the Heights (stagehand), Museum (Head Technician), Chicago High School Edition (Head Technician), A Bicycle Country (Stage Manager), Matilda Jr. (Stage Manager), and Mean Girls Teens Edition (Stage Manager).
